News & Media Releases: RTC Programme Delivers Online Banking To A Further 43 Rural Communities

Online banking and bill pay services will soon be available to a further 43 rural communities through the Federal Government's Rural Transaction Centres (RTC) Programme.

The Minister for Transport and Regional Services, John Anderson, and the Minister for Regional Services, Territories and Local Government, Senator Ian Macdonald, today announced a further 43 RTCs in local postal outlets as part of the RTC EPOS initiative.

"These 43 communities, along with another 27 announced last week, will now have online banking service and online bill pay services as part of the Federal Governments RTC programme in partnership with Australia Post," Senator Macdonald said.

"These RTC facilities will provide access to deposit, withdrawal and balances through 70 financial institutions plus other services including credit card payments."
